Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide or laughing gas is a mild sedative that is safe to use on patients of all ages and produces fast effects that create a comfortable environment in minutes. We will place a mask over your nose and instruct you to inhale. You will soon feel at ease and fully relaxed in the treatment chair while Dr. Sy completes the necessary dental work. When finished, we’ll remove the mask and turn off the gas, resulting in a quick return to normalcy so that you can resume regular activity immediately following your appointment.
Oral Conscious Sedation

Using prescribed pill medication that is to be taken before your upcoming appointment, oral conscious sedation is a more moderate form of treatment. Its effects take longer to achieve but will cause you to remain comfortable and almost euphoric while in the dentist’s chair. Throughout treatment, you will remain conscious enough to respond to cues but will be unlikely to recall details of your appointment later on.
IV Dental Sedation

IV sedation is most commonly recommended for patients who require multiple dental procedures in a single appointment or who experience extreme anxiety. The medication is administered intravenously (through a vein) to provide fast-acting results. While in the treatment chair, you will feel sleepy but remain fully conscious while we deliver the high-quality oral healthcare you need. Since the effects take time to wear off, we do require you to have someone drive you home after your appointment.
